Sing With the Chorus

If you have always wanted to sing with a large group and full orchestra or just love to sing, please consider joining the San Diego Festival Chorus.

Rehearsals for the Winter season will begin on September 11, 2017. New members can join us through October 16. The performance is Sunday, December 10 and will feature Handel's Messiah as well as a selection of other holday favorites.

Rehearsals: The chorus rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:15 pm in the music room of Hillsdale Middle School, 1301 Brabham Street, El Cajon, CA  92019 (Rancho San Diego). Membership is open currently to all voices and we have a special need for tenors and basses. Auditions are not required, but previous choral singing experience is helpful.

Study Tracks: All members have access to special study tracks that contain the music with the specific part (soprano, alto, tenor or bass) emphasized. This allows you to practice at home and maximizes the value of weekly rehearsal time. If you do not read music, the tracks will allow you to learn the music by ear. These tracks are available on CD, can be downloaded from our website, or can be played directly from the chorus website.

Music: The printed music is available online for you to download and print. Alternatively, you can purchase copies of the sheet music at a rehearsal for a fee of $17. You will need a black binder in which to place your music for performances.

Fees: There is a fee of $60 per season for participants. Discounts for new members or groups are available; please ask at your first rehearsal. These fees cover the rental of the performance venue, payments to the orchestra, and stipends for the musical director and the rehearsal accompanist.

Want more information? Please contact our Director, Anthony V. Mostardo, 619/670-3588, vivaci@att.net, to let him know you are coming, and discuss voice placement, etc. .

Alternatively, feel free to come to a rehearsal for a get-acquainted introduction to our group.
